The callback lifetime is host-managed via JS_DupValue(...) and JS_FreeValue(...). In QuickJS, values (JSValue) are reference-counted. So when we call dup or free, we're saying "hey I have another reference to this value, please don't garbage collect it until I let you know I'm finished with it".
