it also supports more patterns. the dotnet version restricts lookarounds to the normalized form (?<=R1)R2(?=R3) where R1/R2/R3 can’t contain lookarounds. the rust version lifts that restriction on lookaheads entirely, so you can use them freely. not a big enough increment for a publication of its own, but a meaningful improvement for real-world use.
